- Do you know the Be Box has PCI busmastering SCSI on board, 16-bit stereo
- sound, 4 (?) fast serial ports with 16-bytes FIFO, support of $50
- ethernet cards etc. All of these thanks to the "standard peecee hardware".
- It is what engineering is all about. You don't have to waste your time &
- money reinventing the wheel when someone else takes care of that already.
-
- I don't suppose you start your own fire, hunt you own dinner and make your
- own house ?
-
- BTW because "SVGA Poweramiga=BeBox!", the BE newsgroups are freq. by quite
- a few of the famous Amiga people eg. Dave Haynie, Fred Fish etc. These
- people ought to know better.

- Not when what's on the Amiga is obsolete 6-7 years ago. Even when PC
- stuff is obsolete tomorrow, you can just go by the clone shop and plug in
- a new card. No need to wait for AT or Viscorp to come up with yet another
- new chipset in say 2-3 years.
-
- As long as the hardware can sing Amiga OS, it is an Amiga.
